Hollander Hospitality Announces New Director of Hotel Facilities Management

Guy Bourn

Guy has accepted the position of Director of Hotel Facilities Management! This is Guy's 25th year with Hollander! He says that each year brings a new project and an exciting new challenge. He started his career with Hollander in '94 as a Houseman and was quickly promoted to Maintenance Manager. He then led the Furniture Fixtures and Equipment team while opening the Holiday Inn Express in Puyallup. Guy has been a part of each hotel opening and renovation. He also had the opportunity to manage the Holiday Inn Express Puyallup for 3 years, then later returned to his role as Facilities Manager. Guy said, "It has been a long and very rewarding 25 years. I enjoy being a part of our growing hotel portfolio and am looking forward to working more closely with the Chief Engineers and developing a strong maintenance team for Hollander Hospitality. Outside of work Guy loves to cook for his family. He also enjoys beach vacations in between hotel openings! Loren Terpstra, our VP of Hotel Operations and Guy's supervisor, says that Guy has been successful due to his attention to detail, problem solving abilities, assertiveness, dedication to cutting costs through energy saving equipment and rebate programs and his experience with several trades. "As a result of almost 25 years of working with the Hollander properties, Guy has an intimate knowledge of every building asset within the hotel portfolio. His desire to find ways for the company to improve upon our products and save money by lowering energy costs has served Hollander very well. Guy has always been a creative and efficient problem solver. With his experience in several trades, he brings an impressive tool belt to work every day. Guy has also spent significant time on the operational side of the fence giving him valuable perspective on how the operational teams are affected by the physical properties and the challenges that may arise. The time he has spent with our guests has also given him valuable insight on what is important to them and where we need to focus our time and energy as a company. He is great at being proactive and foreseeing challenges that may result from making a change with equipment on site. Guy’s continued loyalty and dedication to Hollander Hospitality is very much appreciated and we are truly blessed to have him in his new role of Director." Congrats, Guy!
