Hollander Welcomes New Lead Chief Engineer

Wayne Ruedinger

Wayne started his journey with Hollander Hospitality in 1994 as part of the conference & maintenance teams at the Best Western Park Plaza. In 1998 Wayne transitioned to projects with Guy Bourn, Hotel Facilities Manager, to finish the Holiday Inn Express Puyallup. Once HIE was finished, Wayne accepted the role of Conference Manager at Best Western until 2001, when he took a break due to military deployments. In 2011, Wayne came back on to our team to help improve the conference department at the Best Western and to help Guy on our Fairfield Inn & Suites Puyallup project. Once this project finished, Wayne filled in as temporary Chief Engineer at Fairfield until his promotion to Corporate Project Manager. Wayne managed the remodel of our Courtyard Tacoma Downtown, and helped finish the remodel of our Crowne Plaza Seattle Airport, where he then became Chief Engineer. Wayne’s new role will allow him to continue his passion for quality maintenance while also expanding his opportunities to help with training and organizing processes and procedures for all of our Hollander Properties. His passion for quality and his ability to train and mentor his staff have proved to be an asset to not only the Crowne Plaza but also Hollander Hospitality as a whole. Wayne spent 29 years in the Air Force as an Avionic Technician on the C17 Aircraft. He has traveled all over the world on several deployments. Wayne enjoys traveling, especially to the Philippines where he and his wife built a house and his family resides. Wayne is the perfect example of Hollander’s passion to promote from within. We are thankful for Wayne’s loyalty and tenure with our company, and wish him the best in his new role!
